Comprehensive Instructional Support for Math and Reading
Dena Silver is an experienced mathematics educator, instructional specialist, and tutor with over a decade of experience supporting students across middle school, secondary, and higher education settings. She holds a Master of Education in Teaching Children Mathematics, a Master of Education in Literacy, and a Learning Technologies Certificate, allowing her to integrate strong math pedagogy with literacy-based strategies that strengthen comprehension, problem-solving, and confidence.

Educational Background and Data-Driven Approaches
Dena currently serves as a Math Specialist for grades 7–10 and a Mathematics Adjunct, where she teaches Developmental Math and Algebra and works extensively with students facing learning gaps, math anxiety, and high-stakes exam preparation. In addition to her classroom work, she has led math labs, bootcamps, and professional development workshops, and has supported institutional assessment and instructional improvement initiatives in higher education.
Her work is grounded in the belief that closing the math gap begins when teachers are willing to strengthen their own understanding and instructional practices—one lesson, and one learner, at a time.
Personal Journey in Mastering Mathematical Concepts
Dena's personal journey in math led her to confront and fill in her own gaps, which deepened her understanding of critical mathematical concepts necessary for problem-solving. Through years of research and dedication, she has mastered these concepts and relates them to real-world situations by incorporating various literacy devices.

Passion for Teaching and Student Success
With over 10 years of experience and research, Dena has developed a strong passion for helping developmental math students learn and retain mathematical concepts, preparing them for the next stages of their education and careers. Her ability to create clear and concise learning objectives and utilize differentiated instructional methods has been demonstrated through the success of her students.
